Raising awareness of homelessness in Grantham
On Saturday 9 December, Mrs James 'slept out' as part of a sleep out in aid of Grantham Ark, to raise awareness of homelessness in the town.
The aim of the sleep out was to support the establishment of an emergency shelter in Grantham. The sleep out was hosted by St Wulfram’s Church and representatives from other churches in the town and was held in the grounds of Grantham House.
Participants weren't allowed a tent!
Mrs James slept OUTSIDE in DECEMBER (from 9pm to 7am) for a very good cause and raised nearly £300. Great effort, Mrs James!
'At Grantham Ark, we do all that we can to protect and support local people who are experiencing homelessness. The charity was launched in 2020 by the vicar of St Wulfram’s Church and provides temporary accommodation, an address, plus support services that help break the cycle that’s stopping local people from getting back on their feet'.
