UK Work Experience Programme
The UK Work Experience Programme is for students looking for a work experience placement with a leading global bank. The programme provides opportunities to gain some hands-on experience, develop your knowledge of banking and financial services, and explore the careers available at HSBC in the UK.
Students should note that this is an unpaid work experience programme.
For: Candidates aged 18 or under, in full-time education (Years 10-13 in the UK and S4-S6 in Scotland)

Join our Volunteer Police Cadet programme. Lincolnshire Police has 6 cadet corps across the county and recruitment will open in April this year.
About Volunteer Police Cadets
The Volunteer Police Cadets is the nationally recognised police uniformed youth group and is open to teenagers from all backgrounds aged between 13 and 18.
The aims of the Volunteer Police Cadets are:

to promote a practical understanding of policing amongst all young people.
-
to encourage the spirit of adventure and good citizenship.
-
to support local policing priorities through volunteering and give young people a chance to be heard.
-
to inspire young people to participate positively in their communities.
There are many benefits to young people being part of the Police Cadets, including:

learning about Lincolnshire Police and developing their knowledge on a variety of policing topics.

meeting lots of different people and making new friends.
-
helping to reduce crime by taking part in local policing operations and representing Lincolnshire Police at community events.
-
helping to make a difference in their community through positive engagement with members of the public and social action projects.

gaining and developing valuable skills that can support them in their life and future career.

gaining a sense of social responsibility and becoming a role model to others.
Cadets are supported by police officers, police staff, and adult volunteers who give their time to share their knowledge and expertise of policing and their local communities. Volunteer Cadet Leaders are recruited following safer recruitment guidelines, including being DBS checked and security vetted. They receive detailed safeguarding and role training to help inspire, support, and develop young people.

Cadet sessions are held on Wednesday evenings during term time.
What’s next?
The full recruitment and selection process runs annually and will be open between 15th April and 27th May 2024. Open evenings and selection events will be held over the summer before cadets start in September. Recruitment age is 13 years through to 16 years; however, young people can remain as a cadet until the age of 18.

The upcoming NHS Allied Healthcare Work Experience session on Sunday 7 April, is a fantastic opportunity for students who are considering a career in healthcare.
At the start of the session, attendees will engage with a distinguished guest speaker, providing a rare chance to glean insights from a seasoned AHP professional. They will then delve into the pivotal aspects of communication and fractures.

Our guest speaker, Melanie Dalby, a seasoned pharmacist specialising in haematology and clinical academic research lead for pharmacy at King’s College Hospital, will share a wealth of knowledge and insights, offering invaluable guidance to aspiring healthcare professionals.
Following their talk, students will be guided through various allied health careers by exploring the journeys of two patients from initial presentation to full recovery. Students will gain invaluable perspectives on patient care dynamics and the collaborative efforts within the NHS, including exploring careers within:

Students are awarded a Work Experience Certificate for every session they complete. Those who complete the full 6-month programme will be awarded a Highly Commended Reference from the Presidents of Allied Healthcare Mentor. These are fantastic additions to their CVs!

Yorkshire Dental Schools Summer School: a DSC Summer Schools Programme
DSC Summer Schools is a Dental Schools Council initiative in partnership with dental schools across England. The initiative is funded by NHS England.
The University of Leeds and the University of Sheffield are co-hosting an online summer school for Y11 students. The summer school has 80 places available and will take place on 25- 27 June 2024.
Participants will experience talks and workshops including mock clinical scenarios, learning about tooth morphology, common oral conditions and gain an insight into the roles and working lives of different members of the dental team. They will gain knowledge, skills and confidence to help them build a strong application to support their future ambitions. We are pleased to announce that for the fourth year running, Built Environment Work Experience Week will be going ahead. This event has had huge success in the past, and we are delighted to invite you to take part. The week will be on Monday 1 July until Friday 5 July.
This week’s placement is to plan, cost, and design part of a new road in England.
Over the week you will meet a variety of people who work in construction and engineering, learning about their jobs and their route into construction. They come from a wide variety of backgrounds and their paths into their current job have not always been what you might expect.
You will also meet recruitment experts to give you hints and tips on CVs and interviews. With the help from their presentations, using your own skills and those of your team members, you will work to create a presentation which shows why our judges should pick your company and its designs to build part of the new road.
There are two options for you to be involved in this week and below will detail more information:
● Virtual Delivery: Here you will take part in Built Environment Work Experience Week via an online platform
● In person Delivery: In the event that there is a site near to you that has availability, you will be able to visit the site for a week.
